MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said yesterday it is ready to talk and work with motorcycle ride-hailing firm Angkas to study the possible regulation of its operations as a public transport. We are willing to talk. We are willing to listen,” the DOTr said in a statement. The department added that Angkas should first comply with the Supreme Court temporary restraining order (TRO) that effectively gave back to the government the authority to apprehend Angkas drivers. The DOTr said Angkas should follow the TRO just as the government obeyed the preliminary injunction issued by a Mandaluyong Court before it was overturned by the SC.
