The DOTr said that fixers have resorted to naming transport officials, specifically Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and LTFRB chairman Atty. The agencies’ warning stemmed from a letter sent to the LTFRB by transport group Liga ng Transportasyon at Operators sa Pilipinas (LTOP) and by LTOP Board Resolution No. The LTFRB also clarified that even if a particular transport group has requested for the opening of a certain route, no exclusivity is granted to the requester.
