Share TweetBy Analou De VeraThe Department of Tourism (DOT) said that the carrying capacity of Baguio City is currently being studied in order to maintain its environmental sustainability. The DOT said that the City of Pines currently has an estimated population of 370,000. Determining the carrying capacity of Baguio City would be one of the factors that should be determined as this premier tourist destination is undergoing rehabilitation, the tourism department said. Puyat said that the Baguio rehabilitation program involves the improvement of premiere tourist spots, revival and preservation of its ecological health, proper land use and zoning, building of a sewerage treatment plant, as well as enhancement of street lights and pedestrian areas.
