MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reiterated to employers the proper payment of wage for workers during special or non-working and regular holidays in December this year. the employees must be paid 200 percent of their wage for that day on the first eight hours [(daily rate x COLA) x 200%]. ADVERTISEMENTFor overtime pay, employees should get an additional 30 percent of their hourly rate. [Hourly rate of the basic daily wage x 200% x 130% x number of hours worked]. For work done during their rest day, they will be paid an additional 30 percent of their basic wage of 200 percent [(daily rate x COLA) x 200%] + [30% (daily rate x 200%)].
