MANILA, Philippines — An employee of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) was killed in an ambush in Malate, Manila on Monday afternoon. The victim was identified as Helen Dacanay. She was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital, a DZMM report said. ADVERTISEMENTDacanay came from work and was with a companion when their vehicle was ambushed by two motorcycle-riding suspects along Malvar Street. Authorities said the motive behind the attack against Dacanay is still unclear.
