DOJ dismisses rebellion rap vs wife of Maute leader 29 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Jeffrey DamicogProviding food to an armed group does not make a person a rebel. This is what the Department of Justice (DOJ) pointed out as it dismissed a rebellion complaint against Najiya Maute, wife of slain terrorist leader Mohammadhayan “Otto” Maute. The panel conducted the preliminary investigation against Najiya based on the rebellion complaint filed before the DOJ by the PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and AFP’s The Judge Advocate General (TJAG) last January 26following her arrest by the police in Barangay Rosary Heights, Cotabato City last January 23. It is precisely for this reason that a preliminary investigation was scheduled so that complainants can adduce additional evidence in support of their complaint for rebellion against respondent NajiyaMaute, should they wish to do so,” the panel said.
