MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ count of active COVID-19 cases is now at 112,807 as of Wednesday as the Department of Health (DOH) reports 9,868 new infection cases, a lower figure due to lower testing laboratory output. The active cases compose 4.3 percent of the total 2,622,917 cases that were detected in the country since the pandemic began. Of the active cases, 90.6 percent are either mild or asymptomatic. ADVERTISEMENTThe DOH also recorded 133 more recoveries, which raised the number of COVID-19 survivors to 2,471,282, or 94.2 percent of the tally.
