Share TweetBy Analou De VeraThe Department of Health (DOH)- Calabarzon recently conducted a basic Filipino Sign Language (FSL) training for health workers in the region. The training was aimed at increasing the knowledge of health workers on proper communication to patients with hearing impairments. The participants were introduced to sign language alphabet, numbers, greetings, time, days, months, and common questions being asked in emergency rooms, and by using simple gestures, the DOH-Calabarzon said. “This will prevent inaccuracy and errors in communication that can pose health risks and liability to health providers,” he added.
