MANILA, Philippines — Two patients who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have died, the Department of Health (DOH) announced Saturday. This brings the total number of mortalities due to COVID-19 to eight. Hours before, the DOH announced that the 54-year-old man, who was the first COVID-19 patient in Mindanao, had succumbed to the disease. As of Saturday, the country’s number of COVID-19 soared to 64.
