MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Energy (DOE) is signing a deal with China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) this week to firm up collaboration in strengthening the Philippine power industry, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said. The energy chief will meet with NEA’s deputy minister and the minister of trade from China this week. “(The MOA) with NEA of China, we’re signing includes development cooperation, technical cooperation, support and all others including nuclear review,” Cusi said. Previously, Cusi said areas of collaboration include training, development of an energy mix and new technologies, advancement of transmission systems. Meanwhile, initial collaboration could start on training of manpower in all sectors of the power industry, such as transmission systems, he said.
