Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has emphasized that ensuring a flawless and impartial election must take place precedence over all party affiliations in the upcoming 13th general election and referendum slated for February 12 next. The DMP Commissioner warned that any violation of the electoral code of conduct could jeopardize the security of candidates and disrupt the overall election environment. At the meeting, Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Md Sarwar underscored the importance of performing duties strictly in accordance with the electoral code of conduct. Meanwhile, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md Nazrul Islam stated that strict legal action would be taken against miscreants to ensure law and order during the elections. During the meeting, the DMP Commissioner also awarded officers of various ranks for their outstanding contributions to maintaining law and order, crime control, and public safety in the Dhaka metropolitan area.
