Benson, popularly known as DJ Blue, is disappointed that Africa’s oldest republic is without a public library. He is calling on the legislature to make laws that would mandate the executive to implement the construction of a public library, which according to him will create amicable environment for learning. He expressed disappointment in the current legislators for ignoring public learning or research by constructing a library for its citizens. The Liberian entertainer said it is his hope to push for the establishment of a public library and for the improvement of the tourism and arts, cultural sector of Liberia. “Culture and creative industries are increasingly being used to promote destinations and enhance their competitiveness and attractiveness,” he said, adding that cultural tourism is one of the largest and fastest-growing global tourism markets.
