PHOTO: GREGOR RICHARDSONThirty years after the closure of the DIC department store, ex-colleagues decided to celebrate with one last hurrah before wrapping up their annual reunions. The DIC closed in 1991, and the building is now occupied by the Dunedin Public Art Gallery,Organiser Chris Obbeek said it was time to call time on the reunions. The closure of large department stores was a sad thing, Mr Obbeek said, as they had a special feeling about them that was unlike stores today. All the former colleagues were one big happy family, and the reunions had been great fun, she said.
