The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have lifted the lid on the gruesome murder of 32-year-old Daniel Mwangi Wang'ondu who was found dead on the first day of 2021. DCI detectives said the Nyeri man paid the suspects KSh 160,000 to kill his son. According to a statement from DCI, the deceased's father, Stephen Wang'ondu Kinini, hired his driver, James Mahinda Mwangi, in December 2020 to kill Mwangi over a family feud. Suspects' confessionOn Saturday, February 20, the investigators got a major breakthrough after tracing the driver to Githurai and apprehended him. The three suspects confessed to the detectives they were paid KSh 160,000 by Mwangi's father.
