"We will work with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution to deter hate speech," he said. To execute this, he said they have procured video and audio devices that will be used to record public statements. He urged the public to shun politicians practising divisive politics. On June last year, several leaders were charged with hate speech but later released.
