The detainees are Rakib, Harun, Khorshed Alam alias Pagla Sohel, and Swapan. Among them, Khorshed received a bullet wound and was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. According to DB, Khorshed was wanted in several cases filed with different police stations. Deputy Commissioner of DB (east) Khandaker Nurunnabi told the Dhaka Tribune that acting on a tip-off that miscreants were preparing to grab a piece of land and commit robbery at Nandipara, the DB team conducted a drive around 4am. “Sensing the presence of police, the miscreants opened fire at the law enforcers forcing them to fire back,” he added.
