Gump Hayes is back with the Calgary Stampeders. The American defensive back re-signed Friday with the CFL club on which he spent all last season on the practice roster. He played 25 games over two seasons at Arizona State, and in his senior season, he had 42 tackles including three tackles for loss, three interceptions and six pass breakups. Day 4 of CFL free agency was otherwise quiet for the Stampeders. Of the 17 Stampeders who entered free agency Tuesday, only six — Evans, DB Emanuel Davis, WR Bakari Grant, OL Randy Richards, OL Quinn Smith and DB Adam Thibault — remain unsigned.
