Share TweetBy Ben RosarioThe Department of Agriculture (DA) may have accumulated the largest amount of unliquidated fund transfers in government, totaling P4.883 billion or 85.45 percent of the total P5.71 billion it distributed to implementing agencies (IA) and non-government organizations. The Commission on Audit, in its 2018 annual audit report for DA, also revealed that prior years unliquidated fund transfers totaled P16.569 billion or 69.88 percent of prior year’s balance of P23.778 billion. Large amount of money that remained unliquidated are funds transferred to LGUs amounting P8.294 billion, NGAs amounting P6.784 billion, GOCCs amounting P4.995 billion, NGOs amounting P1.293 billion, to cite a few. DA was directed to request for write-off pursuant to CoA guidelines and send a follow-up demand letter to concerned IAs and NGOs.
