MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Agriculture on Saturday assured the public that there is enough local poultry production that can satisfy national demand during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a statement, the DA said it has observed that even though there was a decline in the importation of imported poultry meat and poultry products, the local production was enough for the country’s consumption. “It is the department’s commitment to raise the productivity of the country’s poultry sector. I have always emphasized our goal to increase local food production, poultry included. Dar said that these products are not sold in wet markets where local producers bring in their fresh products.
