FC Dallas defender Marquinhos Pedroso, left, clears the ball away from Columbus Crew's Pedro Santos during a match last season. (Brandon Wade/Associated Press)In urgent need of help at left back, D.C. United on Tuesday was working to acquire Marquinhos Pedroso from FC Dallas for a 2020 first-round draft pick, the Insider has learned. MLS has yet to approve the proposed trade, which would require Dallas to keep a large portion of Pedroso’s salary on its books. The issue is tied to the manner in which Dallas signed Pedroso last summer. He joined Dallas last summer after two seasons in Turkey, where he was on loan from Brazilian club Figueirense.
