John Requejo Jr., a former U.S. youth international who played in the Mexican leagues for 3 1/2 years, has begun a trial with D.C. United. Previously, Requejo played for the under-14, U-15 and U-17 national teams. Also in training camp are right-back candidates Sheanon Williams, an eight-year MLS veteran, and Chris Odoi-Atsem, whose contract option was not renewed by D.C. after an injury-plagued rookie season. United remains in pursuit of a Latin American outside back; the club has declined to identify him publicly.
