Around 55 villages of 68 unions have been inundated after most of the flood embankments of the district were washed away by the high tidal waves, said Azizul Haque Zoarder, relief and rehabilitation officer of the district. Acres of shrimp enclosures and crop fields worth Tk100 crore have been washed away by the cyclone Amphan in only Koyra and Paikgachha upazila on Wednesday night. Most of the unions under Koyra Upazila of Khulna have been inundated due to the cyclone Amphan, according to the local administration. Shimul Kumar Saha, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Koyra, said: "The surge damaged several embankments in 11 spots of Koyra. Meanwhile, a minimum of six unions of Paikgachha Upazila have been inundated due to the cyclone.
