BUKIT MERTAJAM: Closely reflecting on the significance of the Christian Holy Week has been an annual ritual for churchgoer Marietta Naidu. This year, apart from the annual Palm Sunday procession within the church compound, another procession was held soon after the 8am mass ended. A group of 15 cyclists accompanied a life-sized cross ferried on a four-wheel drive for the ‘Way of the Cross’ procession outside the church premises. The procession, which kicked off at The Sanctuary at about 10.30am, stopped at 15-minute intervals at the open fields in Taman Sentosa, Chapel of Our Lady of Fatima in Kampung Berapit, Taman Makok, Taman Desa Damai, Taman Bukit, Taman Kota Permai, Taman Desa Palma, Taman Selamat, Taman Sejahtera, Taman Machang Bubok, Taman Jernih and B-Garden. Loh said similar processions using bicycles within the church’s BEC areas were held in 2013 and 2015.
