Jamie Jameson died of his injuries after being hit by a driver allegedly evading police. "At ten minutes past eleven [on Tuesday], my cousin Jamie Jameson died, after the tubes keeping him alive were withdrawn. A 25-year-old Auckland man appeared in Waitakere District Court yesterday charged with reckless driving causing Jameson's death. The vehicle struck the cyclist at the intersection on Don Buck Rd and Helena St but did not stop. Police are continuing to investigate this incident and the Independent Police Conduct Authority has already been notified.
