Cyclist, 66, dies two weeks after being struck by motorist in Scarborough

A 66-year-old cyclist has died, two weeks after she was struck by a motorist in broad daylight at a Scarborough intersection. The driver, an 80-year-old man in a brown Honda Civic, was heading south on McCowan, and making a right turn onto Sandhurst Circle as the woman was crossing. The woman was taking to hospital at the time in life-threatening condition, and pronounced dead Wednesday. She’s the first cyclist killed in Toronto in 2019. Last year, five cyclists were struck and killed on Toronto streets, according to data compiled by the Star.
