Former Olympian Becky Wardell is on the last leg of a fundraising journey that has lasted nearly a year. Former Olympian Rebecca Wardell has been taking the long road home to get from Switzerland back to Lake Hawea. The heptathlete was in Nelson on Monday, on the latest stop of a year-long, 20,000km bike ride to raise money for charity. In Nelson, Wardell visited Richmond Primary School to talk about her journey, one of 35 she is visiting around the country. Throughout the journey, Wardell and her riding partners had to rely on the kindness of strangers to help them through.
