A woman working at Waikato Hospital says a “cyber security incident” has created “absolute chaos”. It’s affecting all clinical services across the Waikato DHB hospitals, including Waikato, Thames, Tokoroa, Te Kūiti and Taumarunui to varying degrees. Kelly Hodel/Stuff Waikato Hospital’s computer and phone lines have been down since Tuesday morning. Carer Rachel Egestad told Stuff she tried several hospital department phone lines and could not reach any. The DHB advised the public to keep Waikato Hospital’s Emergency Department for emergencies only.
