North Canterbury farmers have imported black nosed swiss valais sheep embryos from the UK and now have their first lambs. There will be some cute contenders at the New Zealand Agricultural Show in Christchurch this week. Three Valais blacknose sheep, lambs Pumpkin and Benny, and ram Abraham, are at the annual event, which runs from Wednesday to Friday. The breed's black face, ears and feet, shaggy fringe and soft white fluffy fleece gave them the title of the "cutest sheep in the world". "We are about six months behind the first lot of people to bring the Valais breed into New Zealand.
