Customs personnel P35-M shabu in airporthome/News/Nation/Customs personnel P35-M shabu in airportMORE than P35 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, was seized by the Bureau of Customs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from a Filipino passenger from Vietnam. Customs authorities identified the passenger as Nazarene Obillo, who arrived on Saturday morning from Hanoi, Vietnam. Officials said Obillo originally came from Siem Reap, Cambodia and took a connecting flight from Vietnam en route to Manila. Last year, 15.96 kilos of shabu and 1.03 kilos of marijuana worth P130 million were also intercepted inside the Fedex warehouse at the NAIA. In February 2019, Customs personnel also uncovered 13 kilos of shabu worth at least P90 million hidden inside three mufflers that came from West Covina, California.
