Customs intercept RM1mil of syabu disguised as Christmas gifts - Nation

KOTA KINABALU: An attempt to bring in syabu with a street value of RM1mil as Christmas gifts was intercepted by Sabah Customs officers. A 38-year-old local man was detained as he turned up to pick up the 26kg of syabu at a courier company, said Sabah Customs deputy director Madrim Tasan at a press conference here on Wednesday (Dec 26). He said the drugs were hidden in Da Guan Yin tea packets and placed inside several boxes of baby diapers. “The suspect told us the boxes from Kuala Lumpur were gifts for the year-end holidays,” he said. In all, they involved drugs with a street value of RM9.2mil.
