Waikato University literary scholar and writer Sarah Shieff has received a $20,000 research grant for her latest project, to publish a collection of the letters of poet and journalist Allen Curnow. The collating and publishing of a selection of Curnow's letters is the goal of a project by Waikato University scholar and writer Sarah Shieff. It is the largest grant ever to be awarded by the group and coincides with the centenary year of the Alexander Turnbull Library. As well as preparing the edition of Curnow's letters, she plans to develop a fully-searchable database that will assist future scholars. "The Alexander Turnbull Library – a world-class research library that attracts scholars from around the globe – provides fertile soil for many diverse research projects.
