A new exhibit will be on display at the Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at the University of British Columbia starting Sunday. Culture at the Centre showcases the work of five different Indigenous-run museums and community centres around British Columbia. Among the exhibit sections full of sculptures and intricate craft work, MOA's guests will see six massive maps depicting the traditional territory of the First Nations. Alison Pascal, the curator at the Squamish-Lil'wat Cultural Centre in Whistler, B.C., is sharing curator duties for the exhibit. She said being able to access the different regions of the Lil'wat territory was integral to her people's civilization.
