The Otago Daily Times understands Mr Cull has seen off a challenge from his only rival, Nelson Mayor Rachel Reese, to take the role. The organisation provides its members with advocacy and policy services, business support, advice and training. The LGNZ election was held at the LGNZ general meeting on Tuesday, following presentations from both candidates at an annual conference in Auckland. Lawrence Yule is the outgoing president.
