In 2011, the SC ordered to hand over the one-acre plot to BMC to develop a civic school after the Cuffe Parade residents and a trust fought a legal battle. The Cuffe Parade Residents Association (CPRA) has proposed to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) that they would spend money to develop a community centre and a public school in a vacant plot located at GD Somani Marg. The Supreme Court (SC) had handed over the plot to BMC to develop a civic school which is yet to be sanctioned.
