GettyExtensions are the new craze in baseball, and Cubs infielder David Bote is the latest to claim his. Late Wednesday afternoon, team president Theo Epstein announced to reporters in Atlanta that the team had signed Bote to a $15 million extension that begins in 2020 and keeps him in Chicago through 2024 with team options for 2025 and 2026. — Mark Gonzales (@MDGonzales) April 3, 2019In all, the deal could total seven years, $28.6 million if the Cubs pick up both option years. He is scheduled to make $561,500 in 2019, and the extension does not affect the Cubs' 2019 payroll.
