From a soldier's bomb dog to a young cancer sufferer's best friend, these five extraordinary pooches are all in the running for a coveted award at Crufts 2019. The faithful dogs have been shortlisted after coming top of five different categories: extraordinary life of a working dog, hero assistance dog, man's best friend, child's hero and breed rescue dog of the year. Hero assistance dogEmma the golden retriever and Milli GunnEmma the golden retriever is one of the finalists for the Friends for Life award at Crufts this year. Although Milli was initially scared of dogs, now she and Emma the Golden Retriever are inseparable. Now the retired pooch is saving other dogs' lives as a regular blood donor at the Royal Veterinary College in Hertfordshire.
