Croydon tram driver suspended after video of man 'asleep' at controls

A Croydon tram driver has been suspended after a video from earlier this year appeared to show him asleep at the controls while driving at 40mph on the same line in London where a crash last week killed seven people. A concerned passenger filmed the 32-second clip as the driver struggled to remain sitting upright about three miles from the derailment site in Croydon. Chinnery and Seary were Crystal Palace fans. (@CPFC) Impeccably observed minute's silence by both sets of fans and players in memory of the victims of the Croydon tram crash. The tram driver, Alfred Dorris, 42, from Beckenham, south-east London, was arrested at the scene and questioned on suspicion of manslaughter before being bailed until May.
