Kelly Jay Fordham, founding member of the Hamilton-based rock band Crowbar, has suffered a life-threatening stroke. 1 hit “Oh What a Feeling,” is in Calgary’s Foothill’s Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. “Our hearts ache at the thought of Kelly Jay going without a celebration of his life,” the family says on the GoFundMe page. The original Crowbar broke up in the mid-’70s, but Fordham fronted various versions of the band through the years, performing several reunions in Hamilton. Crowbar came together in 1970 after the band had been fired as Ronnie Hawkins backup band.
