ATHLETICS: Cross-country running is in full swing and Feilding Moa are getting good turnouts at their Saturday events. Next weekend local runners will be able to measure up against the best in the region at the Athletics Manawatū Wanganui Cross-Country Championships at the Bason Botanic Gardens in Whanganui. ♦ Good news for secondary school athletes in that the Manawatū Schools Cross-Country Championships will once again be held in Foxton on Wednesday August 19. Unfortunately Covid-19 deprived them the opportunity for further successes, with the cancellation of both the Manawatū Secondary School Championships and the North Island Secondary Championships. When there is so much talent in the family there is often the expectation other siblings will also do well and this was the case when sister Victoria competed in her school cross-country championships.
