Cross-border health codes could go into effect soon

A mutually-recognized health code between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau is to be launched next week and will allow selected travelers to avoid quarantine. Initially, this will be available to professionals and those with business needs, on a first-come-first-served basis. Between 2,000 and 3,000 a week are to be made available. A small number is to be available for people with special needs. Health codes are a QR code issued to Chinese residents by local governments to indicate their health status before being allowed to move freely.
