"We condemn the CBI raid and see this as an attack on media freedom. But while asserting its support for media independence, the Congress used the opportunity to air its pent-up grievances about an alleged pro-government media bias. Most of the criticism of the media was, however, confined to private conversations. The media didn't care for objectivity then, and now continues to blindly support the government and attack the Opposition. Today, however, the Opposition as a whole underlined the importance of media freedom and accused the government of trying to coerce the more objective channels into submission.
