Critically hurt car smash victim airlifted to Waikato HospitalGOOGLE Tairua, a coastal settlement, is about 50km north-east of Thames. A person has been critically injured in a crash on the Coromandel Peninsula. The vehicle crash also injured three other occupants. A rescue helicopter flew the critically hurt occupant to Waikato Hospital just after 6.30pm. Of the remaining vehicle occupants, one had moderate injuries, the other two minor injuries, the spokeswoman said.
