According to a report in Spanish publication El Mundo, Italian giants Milan were the first of the three clubs to enquire the possibility of signing Ronaldo. (Image: AFP)But the Portuguese wasn't keen on the idea as he wasn't convinced AC Milan had the ability to mount a serious Serie A title challenge this season. Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, wanted to sign Ronaldo on Deadline Day to prevent Real Madrid launching a bid for a replacement. (Image: REUTERS)But Ronaldo wasn't prepared to wait until the final day of the window to move to Paris, and so snubbed a transfer to the French club. Manchester United then made an offer to sign the Portuguese, hoping to bring him back to Old Trafford for a second spell.
