To execute the euthanasia, a meeting of the zoo management was held to decide the fate of the ailing lions. Lahore’s Safari Park decides to euthanise ailing lion pairFollowing the approval, a seven-member committee was formed to euthanise the two lions. The committee consisted of Lahore Safari Zoo Wildlife Deputy Director Chaudhry Shafqat Ali, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Pet Centre In-charge Dr Asim Khalid, Pakistan WWF Director Dr Uzma Khan, Lahore Safari Zoo Veterinary Officer Dr Mohammad Azhar, Lahore Jallu Park Veterinary Officer Dr Amna Fayaz, Wildlife Management Assistant Director Mudasir Hassan and Lahore Safari Zoo Wildlife Supervisor Babar Imran. “After the lions were euthanised, their bodies were kept under observation for about half an hour.
