Knife crime up. The picture from the latest set of crime figures are pretty grim for Sajid Javid. Much of the rise in violent crime in England and Wales was driven by increases in non-violent incidents as well as stalking and harassment. Statisticians suggest that an important factor in the rise in stalking and harassment is due to better recording practices by police. However, no such reason can be given for increases in murder, knife crime, robbery and even the theft of vehicles.
