By David LeggatNew Zealand were engaged on a slow grind to wear down Zimbabwe's batsmen on the third day of the second test at Bulawayo's Queens Club last night. Opener Chamu Chibhabha had knuckled down to complete his first test 50 in just his second test, only to throw it away in the last over before lunch. He had an early stroke of luck when struck in front by Trent Boult's second ball of the day but umpire Paul Reiffel gave him the benefit of the doubt. The seam bowlers had toiled away asking challenging questions, and rotating ends for all bar the last seven minutes of the session. At 45, he edged New Zealand's other left arm seamer Neil Wagner between wicketkeeper BJ Watling and slip Ross Taylor but neither reacted quickly enough.
