Luke Ronchi epitomised the Black Caps march to the 2015 World Cup final. Today he announced his retirement from international cricket after playing four tests, 85 one-day internationals and 32 Twenty20s. His attitude to the game was relentless more than ruthless, tenacious more than temperamental, and selfless more than selfish. The innings was spectacular but the confidence Ronchi imbued in his teammates, 22 days before the World Cup, was more important.
