SportFormer Australian star batsman and ICC match referee David Boon recently visited Colombo as part of a Tasmanian trade delegation. Boon, who hails from the island state of Tasmania, is currently part of the Tasmanian Trade Commission and the brand ambassador for his state. The veteran cricketer along with other prominent delegates had a very fruitful meeting with Jayantha Dharmadasa, Vice President, Mohan de Silva, Secretary and Ashley de Silva, CEO, Sri Lanka Cricket. During the day the delegation also visited the Parliament where they met Thilanga Sumathipala, Deputy Speaker, Chair of the Australia-Sri Lanka Parliamentary Friendship Group and President of Sri Lanka Cricket. Sri Lanka and Tasmania, both share a love for cricket and Boon felt that the two states could boost cultural ties through the sport.
