New Zealand's first test against South Africa has been called off before the scheduled start of the fifth day at Kingsmead, Durban. A rain-soaked outfield, combined with maintenance work done on the outfield far too close to the start of the match, combined to prevent any play from late morning on the second day. New Zealand were 15/2 in reply to South Africa's 263. The second and final test of the series starts at Centurion on Saturday night (NZT)- NZ Herald
