GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. — Search and rescue crews recovered a backcountry skier after he fell off a ridge in Grand Teton National Park. Park officials say 24-year-old Stephen Sherk injured both of his legs Wednesday after he slipped on ice and slid about 1,000 feet (305 metres) near Cody Peak. Park public information specialist Denise Germann says park officials assisted Teton County Search and Rescue crews in the rescue operation. Officials say Sherk was hauled down the mountain and taken to a hospital by ambulance.
